postcards from Tuesday
My girl's morning piano practice:
The remains of Frosty, who melted overnight:
Antique store loot from yesterday:
Maps from an old book that will be turned into a paper quilt (log cabin style) for an upcoming show:
Birch trees from my morning walk along the river with the dog:
And some new collages.

See you tomorrow!
I love the birches. I really do love them. I moved upstate NY to the Adirondacks to be closer to them:) I used to make rustik furniture and rustik birch bark baskets. It was really intense and I loved it so much. But peeling birch was a very intensely difficult job, with bloody knuckles, bugs flying around your head and under the bark...and then the sheer weight of carrying it out of the woods. Sigh. Somehow I miss it! ha! Seems too easy to " just do art " !!!
I look forward to your paper quilt! sounds like fun...
You are an inspiring person. It's great to have made friends!

I love trees, but birches are some of the best looking trees. The trunks are ghostly beautiful. I love the top picture too (oh the light!) and your art pieces, so intriguing. :)

Beautiful and other-worldly Collages Amy,
I saw your works in the recent American painters issue(if I recall the book title right)and found them just mesmerizing. Thanks for showing. Kye
