It's here again: South End Open Studios. I've done so many of these over the years (they happen every 6 months), and it dawned on me that every time, I'm 6 months older... but I digress. This is my last time doing open studios in my current location; I'll be downsizing to a smaller studio come December. I'll miss this long wall and the great windows.
You can see from the studio pictures that I made two new fairy ring collages. This one is like the first two in the series:
This one below is my newest one, made from the body and mushroom parts left over from the other collages I've been working on. I love the addition of the birds and how it feels like it could be growing out of the forest floor. (And I think I might be done with this series of work.)
If you are local to Boston, please stop by my studio at 450 Harrison Avenue in the South End! Hours are Saturday and Sunday, 11-6.
Oh - I am so enchanted with your work! I follow your blog regularly and have tried to imitate some of your paintings, and recently I started taking watercolor classes, mostly by your inspiration.
I love the fairy rings. I have had a particular love for the circle dance paintings by Picasso, Matisse, and Breugel. Your fairy rings make me think of them.
My husband recently surprised with your goose magnolias print that recently went on sale at 20X20. I love it. I only hope that I can make it to your studio or attend an exhibit someday.
