new prints!

Hello!  I've returned from the land of dead laptops.  I've been surviving solely on my Blackberry ever since my old Dell kicked the bucket, but now I'm back in the saddle, with good news to boot.  I have two new prints available online at Keep Calm Gallery: Fairy Ring and Duck Magnolia.

In the studio (where I've been remarkably productive lately, probably because, surprise surprise, I haven't had my laptop/internet there to distract me), I completed a new fairy ring collage today.

Needless to say, these are fun to assemble, and I don't know that I'll ever get tired of making them.  I am itching to paint again, though, so I'm going to switch gears now that this piece is done.  I'll be back later in the week... hope it's a good one!

Well, I lied back in September when I said that I was done making fairy ring collages, because here's a new one.  It's headed out to Los Angeles, just like the last one I made.

 

And now that the contract has been signed, I can tell you that the following piece, Woodpeckershrooms, is going to be made into digitally-printed stretched canvas wall art by Urban Outfitters.

It's going to be a limited run, available in select stores, as well as online.  I am not sure when it's going to be available, but I'll write about it again when I spot it in my local UO store.  I'm really excited about the national exposure and the fact that this is a whole new kind of venue for my work.

I am typing this on a very nearly dead laptop that crashes roughly every 30 minutes, so this might be the last post for a little while.  I am hoping that Dell can get my new one to me pronto.  I'll be back as soon as I can with info on two new prints soon to be released by Keep Calm.  xoAmy

weekend wrap-up

Here in Boston, we awoke on Sunday morning to another snowstorm.  It was the perfect opportunity for my daughter and me to hunker down at the kitchen table with hot chocolate and drawing materials.

 

It must be genetic, the love of mushrooms and small woodland creatures.

 

In the studio, I've been trying to return to my moleskine sketchbook.  I love this bird/high-priestess image.

 

And I'm returning to collage, at least for a little while.  I've been painting like crazy for a commission, and it feels like a good time to put the paint brushes down for a moment and switch gears.

 

 

 

 

Happy Monday!

January things

I've been skiing.  Skiing like crazy for the first time in almost 20 years. 

 

My daughter is an absolute monster on the slopes.  She is a natural, and she's fearless and crazy athletic and does a mother proud.  Me, well, all I can say is that weight training does a body good, because (and I will not toot my own horn here) I felt strong and in control on the slopes, and this with a balky knee from an old sports injury, and I'm convinced that all the hours I log at the gym helped me enormously.  And that's the end of my public service message.

So I'm in a group show in NY, at Denise Bibro Fine Art.  The opening is tomorrow night (I won't be there), and the show will be up through January 31.  If you didn't catch my work there the first time around, in September, now is the time.

And: 20x200, the online print edition site run by my NY dealer Jen Bekman, is having a 20% off sale.  Buy art for extra super cheap!  The only size prints I have available there are the large size at the large price, but 20% off the large price is not so large, right?  These are the prints available:

 

And: very soon I will have two new prints available at Keep Calm.  They are en route from London to Boston for me to sign and number, and then once they are back in London, they will be available for purchase.  Stay tuned for more on that.
